Instructions

  • Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium mixing bowl.
  • Whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter in a separate bowl.
  • Stir together the wet and dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Allow the batter to sit for 5 minutes.
  • Over medium heat, heat a nonstick skillet or griddle.
  • For each hotcake, pour 1/4 cup batter into the skillet.
  • Cook until the hotcake's surface is covered in bubbles and the edges begin to dry, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Serve the hotcakes with sliced bananas and chocolate syrup on top.
